The Vance County Appearance Commission is seeking new members to continue its efforts to improve the appearance of our community. Our County Appearance Commission works closely with county officials on projects that focus on beautification efforts, stressing the importance of recycling and letting local citizens know how important it is to properly dispose of their trash and unwanted items. The Commission sponsors with Vance County a Recycling Day each year on a Saturday in late April to collect and properly dispose of items from local citizens including old paints, electronics, unwanted personal documents for shredding, household recyclables and more. All interested citizens are welcome to apply to become a member of the Vance County Appearance Commission and provide us with new ideas and input. The Vance County Appearance Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month in the County Administrative Offices on Young Street in Henderson.
