You can now go on-line and fill out a “voter registration application”. You will need to go to the State Board of Elections website and click on “Voter Registration” – then click on “Voter Registration Application”. Once you have filled form out, send to the Board of Elections Office at 300 S. Garnett Street, Henderson, NC. 27536.
Voter registration for the March 15, 2016 Presidential Primary will end on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 5:00 PM. Should you miss this deadline you will be able to register and vote at any of the One-Stop sites (early voting) as long as you have the proper document and a Photo ID.
Beginning in 2016, voters will need to show acceptable Photo ID at the polls. For more information on Voter ID go to: www.voterid.nc.gov.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:00 PM in the Board of Elections at the Henry A. Dennis Building.
The Board members are: Kevin Kilgore – Board Chairman, Seneca Nicholson – Board Secretary, and Catherine (Cathie) Clodfelter- Board Member.
Absentee voting (mailed absentee ballots) will start on Monday, January 25, 2016. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail will end on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 5:00 pm. Absentee request forms are available in the Board of Elections office.
One-Stop absentee voting (early voting) will start on Thursday, March 3, 2016 and end on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm. See BOE Links (in red) for more information on One-Stop Voting (early voting) for dates, times, and locations. Fliers are available in the office for the One-Stop absentee voting. You can go to the SBE website and find this information - www.ncsbe.gov – home page – click on Voter Tools- then click on One-Stop Site Look-up.
