NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
That the Vance County Board of Elections will hold a protest hearing on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the matter of an election protest filed on behalf of Jefferson Griffin in the North Carolina Supreme Court Associate Justice, Seat 6 contest. And on the election protest filed on behalf of Frank Sossamon in pursuant to N.C. Gen. §§ 163- 182.10(a)(1). The hearing will be held at the Vance County Administration Building located at 122 Young St, Henderson, NC 27536 in the Vance County Board of Commissioners room.
NOTICE OF SAMPLE HAND-TO-EYE COUNT:
The count will be held at the Vance County Board of Elections, located at Henry A. Dennis Building, 300 South Garnett Street Henderson, NC 27536 December 4, 2024, at 9:00 am.
“The sample audit count, required by state law, helps ensure the reliability of election results tabulated by a machine. Bipartisan teams at each county board of elections conduct hand-to-eye counts of all ballots in the randomly selected precincts and compare the results with the results of the machine counts. The process verifies the accuracy of the machine counts.”
PUBLIC NOTICE:
The Vance County Board of Elections will meet on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 4PM in the Conference Room at the Henry Dennis Building located at 300 S. Garnett St. Henderson, NC 27536 for a regular scheduled meeting. The next regular scheduled meeting will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 4pm.
You can now go on-line and fill out a “voter registration application”. You will need to go to the State Board of Elections website at: www.ncsbe.gov . Once you have filled form out, send to the Board of Elections Office at 300 S. Garnett Street, Henderson, NC. 27536.
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:00 PM in the Board of Elections at the Henry A. Dennis Building. Meetings will be held at the Vance County Board of Elections office located at 300 S. Garnett Street, Henderson, NC. Dates and Deadlines
Here are voter dates and deadlines for the 2024 general election in North Carolina:
- Sep. 20, 2024: Military and overseas absentee ballots begin distributing for the 2024 General Election
- Sep. 24, 2024: All other absentee ballots begin distributing for the 2024 General Election
- Oct. 11, 2024: Voter registration deadline (5 p.m.).*
- Oct. 17, 2024: In-person early voting begins; same-day registration available.
- Oct. 29, 2024: Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.).*
- Nov. 2, 2024: In-person early voting ends (3 p.m.).
- Nov. 5, 2024: General Election Day.
- Nov. 5, 2024: Absentee ballot return deadline (7:30 p.m.).*
Early voting starts on October 17th and runs through November 2nd. The early voting locations will be open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am until 7:30 pm. The sites will be open for one Saturday, on November 2nd from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.
