Public Input Needed – Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan

Floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, winter storms… what concerns YOU?

Vance County is joining neighboring counties of Franklin, Granville and Warren – as well as participating municipal jurisdictions – to gather ideas from residents and community leaders regarding the Tar River Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. If you have suggestions to help your community become more resilient during future natural disasters, Vance County Emergency Management encourages you to participate in an online public meeting to share your thoughts and concerns.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted

The boil water advisory for the following roads has been rescinded.  Customers can contact Envirolink directly at 252-235-4900 for further information and updates.

  • 1636 Rock Mill Road to 2789 Rock Mill Road
  • 4730 NC 39 Hwy South to 7279 Nc 39 Hwy South
  • Foster Road
  • Foster Road Extension

Boil Water Advisory – Vance County Water System

Due to a line break on Rock Mill Road, customers in the following locations are advised to boil their water before drinking.  It is anticipated this advisory will be in place through Tuesday morning when sample tests are completed.  Customers can contact Envirolink directly at 252-235-4900 for further information and updates.

Early Voting Begins This Week – Skip the Lines

Early voting began this week and is available for citizens at the Aycock Recreation Complex (307 Carey Chapel Road) or at the City Operations Center (900 S. Beckford Drive).  Days and hours for early voting are as follows:

October 15 – 16 (8AM – 7:30PM)

October 17 (8AM – 6PM)

October 19 – 23 (8AM – 7:30PM)

October 24 – 25 (1PM – 6PM)

October 26 – 30 (8AM – 7:30PM)

October 31 (8AM – 3PM)
